VERNA MAE BROWN, (NEE: FOLTZ)- passed away suddenly in Creston, B.C. on Jan 2nd, 2008, of a heart attack, with beloved husband Cecil Brown at her side. Verna was born June 30th, 1936 in Melfort, Saskatchewan, where she grew up and attended both Elementary and High School, where she met her lifetime husband Cec Brown, whom she married on Sept. 5th, 1954, and shared 53 very happy years together. Verna will be sadly missed by her husband Cec Brown, her son Rick Brown, his wife Linda. Verna's brother, Jerry Foltz, his wife Darlene, her sister-in-law Carol Foltz, and her brother-in-law Rod Englund. Verna's grandsons, Matthew Brown, his wife Andrea and their children Addy and Janie. Scott Brown, his wife Tina and Verna's granddaughter Amy Brown. She will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Verna was predeceased by her daughter Cherryl Lynn Ham (Nee: Brown), her brother Fred Foltz and her sister, Ruth Elstad. Verna and Cec moved to Regina immediately after they were married. Cec joined the Police Force and Verna dedicated her life to raising their children. Verna was very passionate about sewing, knitting and doing various handicrafts. She enjoyed putting her heart into home crafted gifts for her family. Verna's pride and joy were her 3 grandchildren and her 2 great-granddaughters. In their retirement years, Verna and Cec adopted a nomadic lifestyle, traveling from place to place in their motor home. Eventually, they settled in the beautiful Creston Valley, B.C. with their two closest friends Marjie and John Noordhof. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday Jan 19th, 2008 at 2:00 pm at St. Mary's Anglican Church, 15th Ave. and Montague St., Regina, SK. A coffee reception will be held at the Church immediately following the service. Internment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 815 Assiniboine Ave E, Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
