Velma Simmons Mayfield, 60, died May 23, 2003, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.She was a daughter of the late Jesse and Sunie Epps Simmons. She retired from Mark IV Industries and attended Lenhart Church of God.Survivors: Husband, Kent Mayfield, of the home; son, Kenneth Mayfield, Easley; brothers, Robert Simmons, Lenoir City, Tenn., David Simmons, Central, and Ray Simmons, Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Flora Elrod, Liberty; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central-Clemson Commons, with burial in Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.The family is at the home of the sister, Flora Elrod, 541 Piney Trail, Liberty.
