PELHAM -- Velma J. Smith, a lifelong resident and farmer in Pelham, died yesterday morning at her home. She was 84.She was born in Pelham, Sept. 10, 1921, the daughter of the late Ellsworth J. and the late Irene M. (Dane) Smith. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Pelham.She attended Pelham schools, and graduated from Lowell High School in 1938. She later graduated from Lowell Commercial College.Miss Smith spent her whole life as a farmer with her family, owning and operating the E. J. Smith Farm in Pelham.She was the last known living member of her family.
