VAN HOOK, JAMES E., age 76 passed away Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011 at his residence. Born in Montezuma, IN, he moved to the Leesburg area in 2004 from Orlando, FL. Before his retirement he was employed as a Technical Publications Writer for the Allison division of General Motors which manufactured aircraft engines. He was a life member of the Elks and served as the former Exalted Ruler of Lodge 635 in Lebanon, IN. He enjoyed being on the water fishing and boating he was an avid golfer and woodworker and was affectionately known as a "tinkerer" who was always willing to take on a project or help someone with theirs. He was pre-deceased by his son, Michael and his sister Phyllis. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Rosalie; brother, Norman Van Hook, Leesburg, FL; sisters, Nadine Halstead and Mary Jackson both of Lebanon, IN, Sue Randale, Cloverdale, IN, Kay Stewart, Port Charlotte, FL, and Judy Massey, Riverfalls, WI; and many nieces and nephews.
