SMITH, Valerie Noel HigginsAge 37. December 31, 2007 after an inspiring and graceful struggle with cancer. She was born December 22, 1970. She is survived by her husband, Brent Smith; parents, Reta and Stanley Higgins; sister, Suzanne Dedman; brothers, Stephen Higgins, Michael Higgins and Quentin Higgins; grandmother, Estelle Cleere. She was a graduate of Franklin Road Academy and Vanderbilt University becoming a Civil Engineer (P.E.). She is a member of Woodmont Christian Church. Throughout her life, but none so more through adversity, she always thought of Christ first, then others, and did so gracefully. Funeral service will be celebrated 1 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2008 at Woodmont Christian Church. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Valerie and Brent have requested memorials to be made to Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center.
