Valerie Jan Abbott Harrington, 36, of Pawleys Island, S.C., formerly of Sardis City, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014, in South Carolina.Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Etowah Memorial Chapel. Bro. Fred Wilks and Bro. Max Roden will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Tabor Road. Etowah Memorial Chapel directing.She is survived by her daughter, Lexus Cayenne Harington of Andrews, S.C.; parents, Reta and Roger Abbott of Sardis; brother, Brian Abbott of Sardis; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.She was preceded in death by her grandparents, L.D. and Martha Gladden, and George and Genora Abbott.Valerie was the 1995 valedictorian of Sardis High School and a 2000 graduate of Auburn University in Chemical Engineering. She was employed with International Paper for 14 years. She was of the Baptist faith. Valerie was a precious daughter, mother, sister and friend. She loved her daughter Lexi more than life itself. She had the most kind, loving and giving heart; those who knew her for who she really was loved her deeply.In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to The Lexi Fund at Wells Fargo Bank, (Reference No. 3077344004).Pallbearers: Dale Abbott, Stacy Abbott, Thurman Parker, Keith Galloway, Mark Parker, Jason Abbott.Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Etowah Memorial Chapel.
