FLOYD, Mrs. Verla Mae Dennis, 98, a resident of Weoka, AL, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2001. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. from the Antioch Baptist Church, Weoka, AL, with Rev. Jim Hankins, Rev. Joe Wagnon and Rev. Ed. Boyd officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Ellison Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Floyd is survived by her son, Jasper Crayton Floyd, Weoka, AL; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Vernon Floyd and her children, Dewey Carlos Floyd, Madelene Bowar, Lorraine Barker and Mary Ellen Floyd. Active pallbearers will be the grandsons, Wes Floyd, Steve Floyd, Chris Bowar, Tony Barker, Dale Barker, Mark Barker, Craig Floyd and Gregg Floyd. Honorary pallbearers will be the granddaughters, Joanie Pape, Julie Floyd, Lisa Pendley, Pegge Floyd, Andrea Floyd, Paige Floyd and Hope Ford. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 17, 2001 one hour prior to the time of services at the church.
