JUNE HOWELL MORRISON MCINTOSH COUNTY, GEORGIA - V. June Howell Morrison, 79, Belvedere Island Plantation, McIntosh County, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly January 31, 2009. She was born July 1, 1929 in Genoa, New York, daughter of Edward C. Howell and Edna Berryman Howell. She graduated from Ludlowville High School, Lansing, NY in 1946. Mrs. Morrison was employed at Cornell University's School of Industrial Labor Relations conference center, Ithaca, NY, where she met her husband, Riley. They moved to Georgia in 1973. She retired after many years with Strachan Shipping, Savannah, GA. June was a good friend to many, many people. A kind and gentle person, non-judgmental and generously sharing her time and home with lifelong friends and newcomers alike. Mrs. Morrison is survived by her son, David Smith (wife Rosina), King Ferry, NY; daughter, Nancy Smith Pollard, Oak Lawn, IL; son, Steven Smith, Ludlowville, NY; daughter, Kathleen Smith Maness (husband Tom), Anderson, South Carolina; also step-daughter, Debra Morrison, South Bend, IN; grandchildren, Eric Smith, Danielle Smith Scofield, Nicholle Smith and Kathleen A. Smith, Timothy Pollard and Kelly Pollard Kalweit, Corrina Manski, Brian Maness; and one great-grandchild, Thora Scofield; her sister, Frances Howell Lewis, Freeville, NY; nieces and nephews, Lynn Marshall and John Marshall, Edward Inman, Ruth Lewis and Dana Lewis. Predeceased by beloved husband, Riley A. Morrison and his daughter, Ann Morrison Manski; also sisters, Eleanor Howell Stern, Harriet Howell, Edith Howell Inman. A Memorial Service celebrating the life of June Morrison will be held Thursday, February 5, 2 p.m., Belvedere Island Plantation, GA. Her ashes will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Rushford, New York, where there will be a remembrance next summer. Memorials may be sent to Hospice or ILR Cornell.
