August 31, 2009 Thomas "Billy" William Noonan, 76, a life resident of Auburn, passed away at his home. "Billy" was the only son of Thomas William and Anne Murphy Noonan. A life member of Holy Family parish, and a graduate of Holy Family High School. He was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War, and retired from Western Electric, in Syracuse. A devoted fan of Notre Dame sports, he was also a passionate reader, always current on sports and politics. he was a volunteer for many years with Meals on Wheels, a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Utopia Club and Knights of Columbus. Surviving are several first cousins, many second cousins, close friends and special neighbors. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Church, with interment afterwards in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Farrell's Funeral Service, Inc., 84 South St., Auburn, NY. Memorials may be made to either Holy Family Church, Meals on Wheels or the Seymour Library.
