CASEY, Thomas R. - (Retired ONR Bus Driver) Tom Casey died peacefully at Eastholme, Powassan, on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, surrounded by family, following an illness with Alzheimer's. He was in his 82nd year. Tom was the loving husband of Evelyn H. Paul-Casey (nee Parrott) of Powassan and the late Norma (nee Joyce). He was the much loved step-father of Richard Paul (Joanne) of Powassan, Susan Brushey (Jim) of Mississauga, Barbara Caicco (John) of Thornton, and Elizabeth Brooks (Paul) of Callander. Grandpa Tom is survived by seven grandchildren. Tom was the dear brother of Doug Casey (Pat) of North Bay and Robert Morrow (Mary) of Ottawa and was predeceased by his brother Albert Casey (the late Ella). The family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home in Powassan on Sunday, May 24 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Powassan Lions Club tribute will be held Sunday at 3:45 p.m. A Masonic Lodge tribute will take place Sunday evening at 6:45 p.m. The family will also receive visitors at Powassan United Church on Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Powassan United Church on Monday at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Powassan Union Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Powassan United Church or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
