Thomas O'Neill, 75, passed away on Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at his home in Kearny, N.J. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Dr., Kearny, on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered in St. Stephen's Church, Kearny, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, N.J. Visiting will be on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.thiele-reid.com. Mr. O'Neill was born in Greenock, Scotland. He came to this country in 1963, settling in Kearny. He was employed as a waiter at the Robert Treat Hotel in Newark, N.J., for many years. He retired 20 years ago. He was a proud member of the Celtic Supporters Club as well as the Irish-American Association of Kearny. In 2004 he was named "Irishman of the Year." He is survived by his sister, Jane Dornan, of Scotland, as well as his niece, Kerry Carty, of Parsippany, N.J. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and -nephews.
