Decatur<!--Decatur-->Funeral for Thomas Mortimer Wood III, 75, of Decatur will be tonight, Feb. 7, 2008, at 7 p.m. at Central Park Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Craig Carlisle officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will be Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at 11 a.m. in Valhermoso Springs Cemetery.Mr. Wood, who died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at Parkway Medical Center, was born Oct. 12, 1932, in Roswell, Ga., to Thomas Mortimer Wood II and Louise Rowell Cashin Wood. His many achievements in life could only be overshadowed by his love for God, family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Angelien Bonds Wood; two sons, Terry Thomason of Somerville and Chuck Thomason and wife, Nancy, of Birmingham; two daughters, Laurie McMillan and husband, Scott, and Angela McMillan, both of Grayson, Ga.; two brothers, Kenneth Wood and wife, Carmi, of Blue Ridge, Ga., and Wayman Wood of Tipton, Ga.; two sisters, Mildred Clonts and husband, Berlyn, of Temple, Ga., and Jeanne Herbert of Loganville, Ga.; and one grandson, Justin Thomason of Birmingham. Pallbearers will be Wayne Bowling, Frank Bynum, Larry Monk, Gerald Payne, Billy Sivley, Jack Green, Rudy McCarley and Jimmy Ray Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels at Community Action or Central Park Baptist Church.
