->Hanley, Thomas JosephThomas Hanley, formerly of Pearl River, NY, passed away peacefully at home on August 25th, 2012 following a prolonged illness. He was 85 years old. Tom was born in the Bronx, NY on May 28, 1927 to Philip and Helen Hanley. Tom served in the Army during both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor of Science degree.Tom met his wife, Teresa (Scarpulla) Hanley when both were working at Lederle Laboratories. They were married in 1956 and had two children, Kenneth and Lorraine. Tom and Teresa lived happily in Pearl River for nearly 53 years. Tom retired in 1987 as a Director of the Division of Human Resources for Technicon Instruments Corporation, Tarrytown, NY. Tom and Teresa spent their later years traveling and helping raise their four grandchildren. Tom's greatest joy came from spending time with his wife and grandchildren. He was also an avid reader and gardener.Tom is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Father Phil, his brother Jim (and his wife, Elaine), his brother Frank (and his wife, Peggy). He is survived by his wife, Teresa, his children Ken Hanley (Gigi) and Lorraine Potter (Dennis), and his sister, Helen Lambert. He is also survived by his four grandchildren Katharine Potter, Thomas Potter, Kevin Hanley, Steven Hanley and many nieces and nephews.Visiting will be held Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday 10am at St. Margaret's Church, Pearl River.
