HENDERSON, Thomas Greer June 26, 1919 - December 14, 2015 It is with heavy hearts the family of Thomas Henderson announce his passing on December 14, 2015 at the age of 96 years. Thomas will be forever missed by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty); children: Tom (Barbara) Henderson of Edmonton, Kathleen (Ernest) Mattern of Houston, Texas, and Mark (Barbara) Henderson of Edmonton; grandchildren: Jill (Peter) Wells of League City, Texas, David (Cristina) Mattern of Houston, Texas, Lindsay Henderson of Edmonton, Christopher Henderson of Edmonton; and great-grandchildren: Sophie Wells, Abigail Wells, and Olivia Wells, Yvette Mattern, and Madeleine Mattern.He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Rose, and siblings Austin, Helen, Dorothy, Eltha, Ethel, and Jim.Tom was a born salesman who found his career in real estate for over 30 years. He was an active cross-country skier, golfer, and card player. He loved his family, taking great pride in his children and grandchildren. He also valued the friendship and camaraderie of many friends and colleagues. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on December 29, 2015 at Westlawn Funeral Home, 16310 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton, Alberta and burial to follow at Glenwood Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Millwoods Shepherds Care for their care and compassion during his stay. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Thomas''s name may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
