Thomas H. Flemingof Dracut, Raytheon retiree, WWII vet; 88 LOWELL Thomas H. Fleming, 88, of Dracut, died Friday evening, November 20, 2009, in the Radius Northwood Nursing Care Center, Lowell. He was the husband of the late Nellie (Walker) Fleming.Born in Lowell on November 23, 1920, he was a son of the late Thomas and Mary (Moroney) Fleming.He received his early education in the former Sacred Heart School in Lowell, and was a graduate of Lowell High School class of 1938.An honorably discharged veteran, he served hiscountry during World War II as a member of the United States Army aboard the Rankwell Submarine in thePacific Theater.Prior to his retirement, Mr. Fleming had been employed for 38 years by the Raytheon Corporation in their Shipping and Receiving Department.He was a lifelong communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church in Lowell.Mr. Fleming was a member of the Bedford VFW.Surviving him are five daughters, Anne Rudy and her husband, Brian of Dracut, Sharon Smith of Dracut,Katherine Fleming of Lowell, Susan Landis of Tewksbury, and Leah Moran and her husband, Patrick of Lowell; two sons, Jim Fleming and his wife, Linda of Littleton, and Thomas Fleming and his wife, Judith of Dracut; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one brother, Raymond Fleming; and several nieces and nephews.He was also the father of the late Timothy Fleming, and brother of the late Mary Duffy, Elizabeth Hayden, Cameila Weir, and Francis, James and John Fleming.FLEMING Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT, on Monday from 4 until 8 PM. His Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 AM followed by his Funeral Mass celebrated at 11 AM in Holy Family Church, South Lowell. Cremation to follow.
