<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Carter, Thomas M. (Tommy), age 70, a lifelong resident of Montgomery died December 21, 2013 of a brief illness. He was born on February 17, 1943 to the late Harvie and Mamie Erline Carter. Tommy was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Carter. He is survived by his loving wife Nancy, of 47 years; his son Ken (Holly) Carter; daughter Holly Carter (Mark) Long; grandchildren Brittney, Baylie Grace and Carter Long as well as numerous loving relatives and friends. Tommy served in the U.S. Navy before joining the Montgomery Fire Department in 1966. He retired as a Sergeant in 1986. He also was a truck driver for Jenkins Brick Company before retiring in 2009. He was a handy man that loved camping, traveling, and spending time with his family. Tommy could fix or build anything. Visitation will be Thursday, December 26 from 5-7 pm at Leak Memory Chapel. Family and friends will meet for graveside services Friday, December 27 at 11:00 am in Greenwood Cemetery. On Line condolences may be made at www.leak-MC.com.
