After the war ended, Dad attended medical school at the University of Toronto, graduating in 1952. At the University of Toronto, he met and married our Mom, Anne Kathleen Haskey in 1951, who was also in medical school. In 1958, the family moved to Vancouver, British Columbia where Dad completed his medical training in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Soon after completing a Pharmacology Fellowship at the University of Alberta, Edmonton in 1964, Dad and Mom moved the family to Saskatoon. Dad worked tirelessly for 30 years as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist at the Royal University Hospital, and as a Teaching Professor at the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. Dad delivered countless babies, cared for many women with cancer, and taught medical students and O&G Residents. Dad was Head of the Department of O&G from 1967-1983 and retired Professor Emeritus from the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan in 1991. We lost our Mom, Anne, in 1992 and our brother, Paul, in 1993. Soon after, Dad met a very remarkable lady who brought him great happiness, Doris Firor (nee Caverly) and they married in 1996.
