ANDERSON Thomas E., Sr., age 89, of Wyckoff, formerly of Hawthorne, on Sunday, October 6, 2013. Born in Jamaica, Queens, Thomas moved to Hawthorne in 1949 and lived there for 63 years. He served his country as a soldier in the U.S. Army during World War II where he earned the Combat Infantry Medal. After the war, Thomas worked as an electric motor repairman for Industrial Electric in Hawthorne until his retirement. Thomas was a longtime member of St. Clement's Episcopal Church in Hawthorne where he served as an usher and on the Building and Grounds Committee. He was also a member of the American Legion Post # 199 in Hawthorne. Thomas was the beloved husband of Virginia (nee: Eyrich) Anderson. Loving father of Thomas E. Anderson, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Chattanooga, TN and Barbara Koman and her husband Edward of Millis, MA. Dear grandfather of Rebecca Kim and her husband Ben of Montclair, Allison Bayer and her husband Brian of Westwood, MA, John Anderson and his wife Jennifer of Charlotte, NC, David Anderson of Newnan, GA, and Greg Koman and his wife Dana of Medfield, MA. Dearest great-grandfather of Graham, Lilianna, Landon and Josette. Funeral will be at 10 AM on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne. Interment will follow at Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Fair Lawn. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
