MILLINOCKET - Therese A. Morneault, 84, died peacefully Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at a Lewiston health care facility. She was born Aug. 13, 1923, in Edmundston, New Brunswick, the daughter of Edgar and Aurelie (Daigle) Soucy. Therese grew up in Edmundston, New Brunswick, and after graduating from high school there, went on to graduate from Notre Dame de Memramcock. She was town clerk in Edmundston, New Brunswick, for several years before marrying Bertrand A. Morneault and moving to Millinocket in 1960. Therese was a communicant of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church and was active with Daughters of Isabella, Little Flower Circle. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and other crafts. Therese was also a volunteer with Katahdin Area Support Group. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bert Morneault of Millinocket; two children, Gilles Morneault and his wife, Amy, of Millinocket and Diane Pinard and her husband, Tony, of Greene; three grandchildren, Marc Morneault of Millinocket, and Luke and Nalini Pinard of Greene; siblings, Medore Soucy and his wife, Margaret, of Quebec, Edwina Godin of New Brunswick, and Cecile Michaud of Quebec; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where a prayer service will be conducted 7 p.m. by Daughters of Isabella, Little Flower Circle. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 112 Maine Ave., Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider.
