Theresa Mary Mitchell, 81 LYMAN -- Theresa Mary Mitchell, 81, passed away on Aug. 22, 2012, after suffering a severe heart attack. Theresa was born on June 23, 1931, to Fred and Laura Michaud in Millinocket. She lived in Portage as a young girl before moving to Portland where she attended high school and met her husband of 61 years, Emery W. Mitchell. They raised their four children together in the village of Goodwins Mills. Theresa enjoyed family camping trips and attending all of her children and grandchildren's activities. She also enjoyed baking and having coffee with friends. Theresa was active in the local community volunteering with Meals-on-Wheels, working with local pollsters on election days, and being involved with activities at the local schools. Theresa and Emery traveled with her sisters and friends to many places around the country and in Europe. Theresa is survived by her husband, Emery W. Mitchell; children, John E. Mitchell and his wife Debra, James E. Mitchell and his wife Tracie, Ralph B. Mitchell and his wife Kelly, and Catherine L. Girard and her husband Rene; and grandchildren, Derrick, Joshua, Adam, Cassie, Leslie and Karalynn. An 11 a.m. graveside service will be held on Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at the Goodwins Mills Cemetery in Goodwins Mills. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford.
