Theresa Katerna Williams 1950 - 2010 NORWICH - Theresa Katerna Williams, 59, of Norwich, departed this life on Feb. 11, 2010 at the William W. Backus Hospital, with her family and friends around her. Born in Bessemen, Alabama on Feb. 17, 1950, she was the daughter of Margaret (Adams) Payne of Norwich and the late Benjamin Payne. As the child of military serviceman, Theresa attended school in Alabama, California, Illinois and last attended the Norwich Free Academy in Norwich. She was married to Gerald Williams and worked several different jobs over the years. In addition to her mother, Margaret Payne, she is survived by three children, Guy Bryant, Terry Williams and Nicole Williams; eight grandchildren, Anthony Flanders, Terry, Jr., Jenae, Ramel, Deandre, Jada Williams, Ahmond Gomez, all of Norwich, and Ashley Lewis of FL; two great-grandchildren, Arianna Flanders and Anthony Flanders, Jr. of Norwich; and her companion of many years, Tony McLean. Theresa was a member of the Groton Church of Christ. "We love you, but the Lord loves you more". Memorial calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 141 Central Ave., with a service to be held at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
