Theresa Goodwin New Bern, NCTheresa Jeanne Anne Bontell Goodwin, 85, of New Bern, NC died Thursday, April 11, 2013 at her home. Theresa was born January 7, 1928 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to Wilfred Joseph and Mary Kergaravat Bontell and grew up in the small town of Lenox Dale, Massachusetts. After graduating from Lenox High School in 1944, she was hired as a chemist's assistant by General Electric and married her boss and the love of her life, Paul Goodwin, on November 9, 1946. She devoted the rest of her life to supporting her husband's career, raising her two children and doting on her grandchildren. Her passion was art, taking art classes, acting as docent in art museums and working in many media, especially watercolors, throughout her life. She loved gardening, watching birds and gourmet cooking. Always an athlete, she enjoyed playing in golf tournaments, skiing, hiking, skating and swimming. After Paul's death in 1991, she moved to her final home in New Bern, NC. She is survived by son, Allen Reynolds Goodwin and wife, Pamela of Wilmot Flat, NH; daughter, Bonnie Jeanne Goodwin and husband, Stanley F. Dzimitrowicz of New Bern; brother, William Bontell and wife, Jan of Whitestown, IN; sister, Nancy Senavitis and husband, Raymond of Manassas, VA and four grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth Dzimitrowicz, Katherine Goodwin Dzimitrowicz, Kimberley Ann Jenkins and Nathaniel Hooper Goodwin. A graveside service will be held April 20, 2013 at Meadowview Cemetery in Amherst, New Hampshire.
