Services for Thelma Broussard, 81, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church No. 1 with the Rev. Henry L. Maze officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Baptist Church No. 1 Cemetery.Visiting hours will be observed Friday from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. and will resume Saturday at 7:30 a.m. until the time of service at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home.A native of Lozes and a resident of New Iberia for 58 years, Mrs. Broussard died at 11:24 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at Rehab Hospital of Acadiana following a brief illness.Mrs. Broussard was a dietician, seamstress and beautician.She is survived by her son, Alvin Broussard and companion Vanessia Harris; two grandsons, Pastor James Broussard and Javante Broussard all of New Iberia; two daughters, Lisa Broussard of San Francisco and Davanda Lopez of New Iberia; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Broussard of San Francisco; a brother, Roger Lee of Port Arthur, Texas; two special friends, Diane Allen and Gilbert Polk Jr.; four sisters, Alma Slaughter of Sealy, Texas, Alice Linden of Port Arthur, Texas, Wanda Mae Hypolite of New Iberia, and Linda Ray Jones of Columbus, S.C.; and four great-grandchildren.Mrs. Broussard was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Broussard; parents, Sherman and Lillian A. Lee; two brothers, Russell and Ronald Lee; and three sisters, Helen Daniel, Clara Mae Lee and Dorothy Ford.Pallbearers will be James Francis, Larry Hanes, Junius George, Leroy Walker, Charles Lewis, Richard Lewis, Robert White and James Reedom.Journet and Bolden Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of the arrangements.
