JOHNSON The Reverend Edward Lee Johnson, Sr., 70, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 29, 2010 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born in Surrency, Georgia on August 8, 1939 to Mr. Richard Johnson and Mrs. Lillie Mae Johnson. He met the Love of his life Betty J. Brown and they were married on October 26, 1957, and have been happily married for 53 years. Rev. E. L. Johnson was ordained and called into the Gospel Ministry on October 4, 1985. He was retired from the Country Club of Orange Park. He is survived by his wife, Betty Johnson; children, Lillie (James), Shirley, Dealvin (Rev. Robert), Edward (Carolyn), Calvin (Wanda) and Sammy (Fran); 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 1 sister, 2 brothers, and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing and visitation for Reverend Johnson will be held in the Missionary Tabernacle Baptist Church, 5730 Sawyer Avenue, from 5 until 8PM. Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 1PM in the Greater Mt. Salem Baptist Church. Interment will be held in Restlawn Memorial Park.
