Thomas Raymond Godburn, III, 52, died in his home January 28, 2004. Born December 15, 1951 in Holland, Michigan, he graduated from Nanuet High School, Nanuet, NY in 1970. He received his Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Park's Aeronautical College of St. Louis in 1974. There he received his private pilot, multi engine, and instrument licenses. He worked in Norfolk, VA at Naval Air Depot as an aeronautical engineer in the F14 structures and system group. He also worked as a technical advisor on the Navy Advanced Tactical Fighter program. He relocated to Jacksonville in 1995 as the F14 Product Support Team leader at Jacksonville Naval Air Depot. He owned Cardinal Flight Services and enjoyed teaching flying lessons and golfing. Survivors include two children: Kristin and Matthew Godburn, both of Jacksonville, FL; parents: Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Raymond Godburn, Jr., of Decatur, IL; sister, Mary Ellen (Robert) Blanke of New City, NY; and several nieces and nephews. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hardage-giddens.com. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon, February 1, 2004, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm. The Rev. Edward Booth will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am Monday, February 2, 2004 at San Juan del Rio Catholic Church in Switzerland, FL. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Jacksonville. Arrangements under the direction and care of HARDAGE-GIDDENS MANDARIN FUNERAL HOME 11801 San Jose Blvd. in Jacksonville.
