Thomas J. Fleming of New City died May 7, 2002 at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife, Marie and his children Thomas P., Helen DiPrima and her husband Anthony, Mary Marsh and Catherine and grandchildren Michael and Lauren DiPrima. Thomas was born in Brooklyn on July 8, 1926 to Agnes and Patrick Fleming. He was predeceased by his brother John. Tom was a veteran of World War II and served in the United States Navy. He was a Lieutenant in the New York City Fire Department and retired in 1990. He was a weekly volunteer at Helen Hayes Hospital and was a member of the New City Senior Citizens Club II. Tom was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and was currently serving as Grand Knight for McCloskey Council #4565. Tom was well loved and is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 9:30am at St. Augustine's Church, New City, NY. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home, New City, NY.
