-> Susie Mae Harper, 77, died Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at St. Josephs Hospital. She was born in Tattnall County, and lived most of her life in Savannah. She retired in 1988 after 37 years with Union Camp, in the bag factory. She was employed by AMF Major League Bowling Lanes and worked in the nursery there. She was also member of Calvary Baptist Temple, and a loving mother and grandmother. Surviving: husband, Covington C. Harper of Savannah; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Elizabeth Whitaker of Waycross; two daughters and sons-in-law; Brenda and Terry Fitchell of Elizabethtown, KY; Linda and Calvin Johnson of Falkville ; one step-son, Eddie Harper of Savannah ; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Ray Sapp, Dick and Sue Sapp both of Augusta, Willis and Tammie Sikes of Collins, William Henry Sikes of Statesboro; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Ann and Gene Powell, and Marie Williamsboth of Statesboro; six grandchildren, and six great- grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2003 from Hubert C Baker Funeral Home. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2003, in the Chapel of the Hubert C Baker Funeral Home.
