Susan M. Harrington, 50, Bradenton, died Jan. 15, 2005, in Palmetto Hospice House. She was born July 30, 1954, in Catskill, N.Y., and came to Manatee County in August 1999 from Buffalo, N.Y. She taught English as a second language at Manatee Technical Institute. She was a former prosecutor. She was a former assistant Erie County district attorney and a former assistant U.S. attorney. She served as deputy New York state attorney general from 1995 to 1999. She was a 1975 graduate of the State University of New York at Geneseo and a 1979 graduate of the University at Buffalo Law School. She was a member of the Erie County and New York State Bar associations and was a group leader in the Cub Scouts. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles Catholic Church, where she taught catechism classes. Survivors include her husband of 19 years, Marty; her mother, Cecilia Barbour of Spring Hill; sons Timothy, Patrick and Daniel, all of Bradenton; a stepson, Brendan of Washington, D.C.; sisters Kathleen Roy of Birchbay, Wash., and Elizabeth Barbour and Mary Lou Landis, both of Spring Hill; and brothers Timothy Barbour of Westminster, Colo., Robert Barbour of Sebastian and William Barbour of Coxsackie, N.Y. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Brown and Sons Funeral Home, 43rd Street Chapel. The Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Wednesday at Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles Catholic Church in Bradenton.
