Susan Elizabeth Smith, 22, of 410 Sulphur Springs Road, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001. Born in East Ridge, Tenn., she was a daughter of Gary R. and Gwendolyn Carter Smith of W. Columbia. She was a graduate of Travelers Rest High School and was a Junior at Lander College. She was employed at Home Gold and was a former employer of Duke's Sandwiches and Stax's Restaurant. She was a member of Leewood Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer Page and Jason Pittard of Greenwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greenville Humane Society, 321 Furman Hall Road, Greenville, SC 29609. Visitation: 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The body will be sent to Jennings Funeral Home, Rome, Ga., for services to be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Floyd Springs Baptist Church in Armuchee, Ga. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
