Susan Neuhart Davis, 57, of Winder, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014 in Jacksonville, FL after a brief illness. The fourth of six children, she was born in Miami, FL on October 5, 1957 to Paul Edward Neuhart and Gracemary Forsyth Neuhart. She graduated from Central Bucks High School East in Doylestown, PA in 1975. Susan married Gary Allen Davis on December 31, 1982. Susan dedicated her career to helping the students and teachers of Barrow County Schools until her retirement in December 2010 after 18 years of service. She volunteered as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and was active within her faith community at Saint Matthew Catholic Church. Survivors include: her husband, Gary, and grandson, Lane of Jacksonville, FL; six children, Jody Davis (Demond) of Suwanee, Andrea Dobbs (Logan) of Lawrenceville, Michael Davis of Fredericksburg, VA, Joel Davis (Marisa) of Jeffersonville, IN, Jeremy Davis (Kirsten) of Orlando, FL and Catherine Davis (Josh) of Concord, NC; two brothers; three sisters; nine grandchildren; and a large extended family. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Monday, June 30 at Smith Memory Chapel located at 755 Atlanta Hwy, SE Winder. A mass in her honor will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 1 at Saint Matthew Catholic Church located at 25 Wilkins Rd SW, Winder. She will be laid to rest during an intimate family burial at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers. To support Susan's niece whom she adored and other children with special needs the family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Focus, a charity that supports the needs of families with children who have special needs.
