She was a former employee of Mission Hospital and retired after 15 years of service. Mrs. Anderson was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and served as a deaconess and member of the gospel choir. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Ann Brown and husband Eddie Brown, Sr. Surviving family include her husband, Bryson Anderson; daughters, Julia Smith (Jesse), Emma Harris (Gene) of Asheville, Thelma Funderburk (Dennis) of Charlotte and Lindy Robinson of Sylva; sons, Eddie Brown, Jr. (Karen) of Charlotte, Emmanuel Brown (Shirley), McKinley and Willie Brown of Asheville; 20 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Thelma Porter; other relatives and friends.The family is grateful for the loving care provided by Four Seasons Hospice and the staff of Stone Creek Health & Rehab. Center.Service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Varick Chapel AME Zion Church with Rev. Damita J. Wilder officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.
