Stephen "Steve" Michael Smith SPARTANBURG, SC-- Stephen "Steve" Michael Smith, 44, beloved husband of Marsha Sewell Smith, died Sunday, January 10, 2010. Born December 31, 1965, Steve was the son of Virginia "Ginger" Campbell Gregory and the late Franklin Bernard "Buddy" Smith. Steve loved people. He overcame many challenges in this life and was constantly smiling and laughing. Steve was an avid sportsman who loved to fish. He will be fondly remembered as a devoted husband, son, grandson, nephew, step-dad, and brother. In addition to his wife and mother, Steve is survived by maternal grandmother, Pauline McGraw Campbell; his step-father, William M. Gregory; one sister, Freida Smith West of Spartanburg; one brother, Robert Edward Smith of Spartanburg; one step-son, David Eubanks of Columbia; two step-brothers, Clark Gregory and wife Tamera, and Curt Gregory and wife Theresa; a special nephew, AJ West; his aunts and uncles, W.C. and Carolyn Smith, Harold and Brenda Campbell, and Buddy and Betsy Varner; and several cousins and nephews. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Eber Bernard and Margaret Blowers Smith; and a step-sister, Lynda F. Gregory. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 15, 2010 at 4:00 PM at the Dunbar Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
