->Stephen Matthew White1965-2015VALDOSTA, Ga. - Stephen Matthew White, 50, of Valdosta died on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness. He was born on Jan. 31, 1965 in Augusta, Maine and has been a resident of Valdosta since 2001. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in direct support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm. After the Air Force, he earned his Master's degree in special education and was currently employed with the Valdosta City School System. Stephen was a member of the Bemiss United Methodist Church. Before moving to Valdosta, he lived in Alamogordo, NM where he was also involved with special education, coached football, and worked with juvenile probation. He loved football and the outdoors, especially camping, fishing, and hunting. He was a loving husband and father and had a major impact on the lives of those he taught and coached.Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Karen White of Valdosta; a son, James Walter White and a daughter, Karel Lee White both of Valdosta; a daughter, Brenna Lowell of Mexico, Miss. and a son, Jeremiah McDonald of Holt Summit, Mo.; two grandchildren, Haleigh Dean and Isabelle Chilson both of Mexico, Mo..; his mother, Elizabeth "Betty" White of Winthrop, Maine; a brother and sister-in-law, Butchy and Cherie White of Farmington, Maine; a sister and brother-in-law, Starr and Lonnie Jones of Ft. White, Fla.; a brother, Kevin White of Winthrop, Maine; several nephews, nieces and numerous cousins; special friends and family members, Dawn and Steve Coleman, Rebecca and Austin Danielski, Tucker Smith, J.D. Hall, Steven Ford, Carl and Diane Arnold and Melinda Pellow all of Valdosta. He is also survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sherry and Lefty Lancaster as well as his brother-in-law, Christopher Lancaster all of Hermon, Maine. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon White and his son, Matthew Christopher White.A memorial service for Stephen White will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev.
