Stella Greenformerly of ScrantonStella Green, 87, formerly of Farr St., in North Scranton, died Sunday afternoon, March 2, 2003, at the Praxis Alzheimer's Facility in Easton. Her husband, Friend R. Green, died in 1979. Born in Scranton on September 28, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Wasyl and Maria Olinski Zaharchuk. Educated in Scranton Schools, she was a graduate of the former Scranton Technical High School, and worked as a machine operator at the Jaunty Silk Mill of Scranton, and as a seamstress for the Sharon Ann Dress Factory of Scranton. She was a member of St. Vladimir Ukranian Catholic Church, Scranton, it's Blessed Virgin Mary Guild, the St. Vladimir Quilting Club and was very active with the fund raising committee until her illness. She is survived by her daughter, Judy J. Kreilick, Whitehouse Station, N.J.; and two grandsons, Charles Jr. and Michael Kreilick, who were her main caregivers; four sisters, Olga Woytew, Elizabeth Russell, Theodora and Catherine Zaharchuk, all of Binghamton, N.Y.; one great-granddaughter; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Zaharchuk, in 1985.The funeral liturgy will be on Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at 9:30 a.m., at St. Vladimir Ukranian Catholic Church, 430 North Seventh Ave., Scranton, to be celebrated by Rev. John Seniw, Pastor. Interment will be in Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Twp. Friends may call at the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home, 254-268 Railroad Ave., West Scranton on Tuesday, from 3 to 6 p.m. Parastas services will be at 5:30 p.m., and the Blessed Virgin Mary Guild will have Rosary Recital at 5 p.m.
