Thomas J LaTour, Sr. March 20, 1919 - April 18, 2013 New Port Richey, FL - Thomas J LaTour, Sr., 94, of New Port Richey FL passed away peacefully on April 18, 2013, after a brief illness, with family by his side. Born March 20, 1919 in Plainfield, he was the middle of three sons of the late Louis and Dora (Pion) LaTour. He graduated from Plainfield High School and spent his younger years living and working in the area. Tom proudly served his country in the Army 8th Air Corp during WWII in England and Germany. Upon his return, he met and married Hilda Turcotte in 1949 at All Hallows Catholic Church in Moosup, whom he was married to for 62 years prior to Hilda passing in 2012. Tom spent 27 yrs. with John Hancock Insurance Co in Danielson retiring in 1979. For many years Tom and Hilda opened their home to numerous foster children. The family enjoyed many wonderful weekends camping in their trailer. Tom and Hilda moved to FL in 1979 and enjoyed a long retirement traveling back and forth to CT. Tom attended St. Thomas Aquinas Church in New Port Richey. Tom was a loving husband and wonderful dad. Tom will be remembered for his love of God, loyalty to his family, dear friends, funny jokes, and his daily cigar. Tom is survived by his two children, Tom Jr. (fiancée Kathy Branca) of New Port Richey FL, and Doreen (Michael) Sullivan of Clearwater FL, nieces, nephews, and a foster daughter Nancy Abdullovski of Brooklyn. Tom was predeceased by his brothers, Edward and Harry LaTour of Plainfield. A funeral mass was celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Tom and Hilda will be interred at the National Cemetery in Bushnell FL.
