BELMONTE - Sophia Lee, 3, of Beachwood, NJ, loving daughter of Corinne (Halak) Belmonte and Matthew Belmonte, passed peacefully on Thursday, January 17, 2013 surrounded by her parents, family, and friends. Although her time here was short, Sophia taught us all to appreciate each day for what it was. Her radiant smile touched all who met her. Although she had a difficult start in life, Sophia never let her physical difficulties limit her. Sophia loved to experience the wind in her face, take bike rides, showed joy in the feel of water, loved to play with balloons, hold her brother, Rory, and enjoyed petting her dog, Tigger. Sophia exemplified the importance of life's precious moments by waking up everyday with a smile on her face. Our sweet angel warmed the hearts of everyone. She is survived by her brother, Rory Elias Belmonte, maternal grandparents Paula & Thomas Farrell of Beachwood, NJ; paternal grandparents: Dawn Belmonte of Holbrook, NY, Glenn and Carol Belmonte of Commack, NY; maternal and paternal great-grandparents, aunts and uncles: Amanda & Joseph Davidson of Pine Beach, NJ, Danielle & Scot Austin of Beachwood, NJ, Kristen Belmonte-Long & Michael Long, Tobyhanna, PA, Jonathan Belmonte, Holbrook, NY; many loving cousins; and a large extended family. She also leaves behind many close special people whose love, care, and help was invaluable. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Carmona-Bolen, 412 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. A private burial service will be held Friday. She will be laid to rest by her maternal PopPop,Anthony E. Halak.
