RACEY, Shirley (nee, Wright) - of Welland, at the Welland Hospital on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 in her 75th year. Beloved wife of Lyle Racey for 36 years. Loving mother of Lora McLaughlin (Philippe Rodrigue) of Welland, Beth West of Penticton, B.C. and Robert West (Lucy) of Welland and stepmother of Tim Racey (Janet) of Niagara Falls and Shirley-Lou Taffs (Bob) of Janetville. Cherished grandmother of Ryan, Dana, Trisha, Jessie, Katrina, Cyndi, Christina, Bianca, Bruce, Celine, Susan, Steven and Nick and great- grandmother of Gabriel. Dear sister of Jean Smith of Calgary, Alberta and sister-in-law of Bud Racey of Niagara Falls. Predeceased by her parents David and Elizabeth Wright, sisters Margaret and Muriel and brother Jim. Shirley was employed for many years as the office manager at Ensign Security. Friends are invited to visit the family at the H.L. CUDNEY FUNERAL HOME, 241 West Main Street, Welland, on Saturday, November 22, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of Shirley's life conducted by Captain Mike Puddicombe of the Salvation Army at 1:00 p.m. in the Cudney Chapel. Cremation will follow. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Salvation Army or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
