SMITH, Shirley Sue Williams, 69, of Zephyrhills passed away peacefully February 11, 2009, at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Dade City. She was born January 11, 1940, in Spiceland, Ind., and resided in Rushville, Ind., until moving to Zephyrhills in 1974. Shirley enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and was a grateful 22-year "friend of Bill W." She is survived by her three daughters, Dawne (Buchanan) Carpenter of Lutz, Fla., Anna (Sharpe) Bentley and her husband, Steve, and Clarissa Smith of Zephyrhills; two sons, Bret Smith of Lakeland, Fla., and Brad Buchanan and his wife, Brenda, of Zephyrhills; six beautiful grandchildren, Johanna Carpenter, Brandi Buchanan, Rrian Bentley, Adam Bentley, Dustin Smith and Nathan Bentley. She was the daughter of the late Homer Williams and Evelyn (Pate) Stewart and stepdaughter of the late John T. Stewart. Also preceding her in passing was her loving husband, Clarence "Smitty" Smith, a beautiful daughter-in-law, Karen Smith, and one son. Funeral services will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2009, at Whitfield Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
