Shirley Rivard After having been ill with cancer for two months, Shirley Rivard of New Liskeard died July 4, 2008 at the Temiskaming Hospital. She was born in Englehart on July 25, 1952 to Fred and Emma Smith. Educated in Englehart, she moved to New Liskeard in June, 2006. Mrs. Rivard worked as an assistant manager at Dollarama and was also a very talented seamstress. She had a love for life and for her children and grandchildren, as well as her close friends. She is survived by her daughter Monique Rivard of Masham, Quebec, son Derek Rivard of New Liskeard, grandchildren Danielle and Dale Regan, Mackenzie Rivard of New Liskeard, daughter-in-law Roxanne Madore of New Liskeard and mother Emma Smith of British Columbia. She was predeceased by her father Fred Smith. The funeral was arranged by Perrin Funeral Chapel. A celebration of life is at Riverside Place in New Liskeard on July 9 from 3-8 p. m. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends attending the service from out of town are from the Ottawa area, North Bay, Toronto, Alberta, British Columbia and Englehart. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
