MOORE, Shirley JeanShirley Jean Moore (Swerdfeger) passed away suddenly surrounded by her loving family on December 7, 2013 in Vernon Jubilee Hospital ICU department. Born on December 12, 1935, in Vancouver, she graduated from VVI in 1954 with a diploma in Practical Nursing. Shirley leaves behind her husband of 58 years, Harold, daughters Diane (Scott), Karen (Robin), and Susanne (Chris), also five grandchildren, Courtney, Thomson, Marc, Devon and Laura, and her brother Vernon (Peggy) who resides in Kaleden. She lived in Richmond, BC, for 30 years, working at Richmond General on the Maternity Unit for 15 years. She moved to Vernon in 1991 to be closer to family. Shirley volunteered at Santas Anonymous for 8 years, which she enjoyed immensely. Thanks to nurses and doctors in ICU for their loving care. A graveside service will be held in Armstrong in the early spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley's name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon, #4, 1551 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC V1Y 9M9 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 104, 3402 27 Ave., Vernon, BC V1T 1S1. Cremation arrangements were in the care of Vernon Funeral Home 250-542-0155.
