(St. Augustine Record, 08/06/05)Shirley Irene Andreu SmithGreenville-Funeral services for Shirley Irene Andreu Smith, 81, of Columbus, Miss., widow of Henry Carter Smith and formerly of Greenville, will be at 3 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, Greenville. She died Aug. 3, 2005, at Winsor Place Nursing Home in Columbus. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery in Greenville. Mrs. Smith was born and raised in St. Augustine, Fla. In 1946, she married Henry Carter Smith and moved to Greenville. She was a longtime communicant member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Greenville. She enjoyed bridge and was a member of the Merry Garden Club. In 1992, she retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. after 18 years.Survivors include three children: Michael Andreu Smith Sr. of Greenville, Clinton Stephen Smith of Columbus, and Melanie Skeen of Vardaman, Miss.; four grandchildren, Michael Andreu Smith Jr. of Asheville, N.C., Eric Lee Smith of Phoenix, Ariz., Jonathan Kyle Skeen and Katie Skeen, both of Vardaman; two sisters, Earlene Carson and Nanette Andreu, both of St. Augustine.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
