She was born on January 22, 1932, in Smith-field, North Carolina, to the late Theodore and Ruby Langdon. Shirley was a faithful member of Riverhills Church of God. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, William Daniel Davis. Survivors include her son, Britt Davis and wife Brenda; daughter, Ann Davis and partner Debbie Hinners; and daughter, Cindy Wehle and husband Tom; brother, Braxton Langdon and wife Dorothy; sister, Jelynn Hall and husband Mike; and sister Doreann Smith; granddaughter, Dusty Kirkland and husband CJ; grandsons, TD and Matt Wehle; great-granddaughter, Riley Kirkland; and many family and friends. Shirley was a loving person, and saw the best in everyone. She was always full of energy and at 4 foot 10 inches tall, she could outpace others twice her size. Shirley very much enjoyed time with her family, and was preparing to fly to a family reunion when the Lord asked her to change her plans. She will be dearly missed by her circle of family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at 10 AM with the Funeral Service to follow at 11 AM.
