Shirley Eleanor Soucoup, 92, of ProTem Special Care Home, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Born in Avonport, NS, she was the daughter of the late Ashley and Bessie (Miner) Cox. Shirley was a retired Registered Nurse at The Moncton Hospital and attended Parkside Baptist Church. She was a former Sunday School Teacher and former member of the Lois Winters Missionary Group. Shirley will be sadly missed by her loving children, Lynn Stanley (George) of Moncton, Ruth Boughan (Mark) of Cambridge, ON, Donna Watson (David) of Petitcodiac, Karen Ells (Steve) of Canning, NS, Dan Soucoup (Joan) of Dartmouth, NS and Gary Soucoup (Helen) of St. Stephen; ten grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Shirley was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George O. Soucoup (1991); sisters, Millie, Helen, Dorothy, Ruth and Della; brother, Russell. In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, there will be no visitation hours. A Memorial Service to Celebrate Shirley’s life will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church Atrium, Hildegard Dr., on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 2:00 pm. Reception following the service.
