SHIRLEY BARBARA ANNE CADIEUX (nee MOORE) June 28, 1931 - January 16, 2004 It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mother. Predeceased by her parents, Mildred and Perry Moore and loving husband Denis. She leaves to mourn her four daughters, Eileen (Doug), Kathleen (Nigel), Colleen (David), Janeen, and all her beloved grandchildren, Jean-Paul, David, Erik, Graeme, Gillian, Nicole, Loreena, Dylan, Travis, and Leeman, her many cousins and extended family back East, her mother-in-law Rita, sisters-in-law, Lucy (Victor), Charlotte, Mariette (Jack), brother-in-law Edgar (Bertha), numerous nieces, nephews, neighbours, and friends. Mom grew up in Windsor, an only child, who longed for the companionship of many siblings. She attended Walkerville Nursing School and did her training at Grace Hospital in Windsor. She met and married Dad and moved to Winnipeg. She worked at St. Boniface Hospital OR and Emergency Departments for many years. Mom enjoyed having all of her "chicks" in one place and would hover over her "brood" tirelessly. Mom also loved her yearly vacations with Dad to Corpus Christi, TX where they celebrated the pleasure of life with the gang at the Sea Shell Inn. Her favourite place on earth was sitting on the stairs facing the Gulf of Mexico watching the sun rise out of the ocean. Not how did she die, but how did she live? Not what did she gain, but what did she give? These are the merits to measure the worth Of a woman as a woman, regardless of birth. Not what was her station, but had she a heart? And how did she play her God-given part? Was she ever ready with a word of good cheer To bring a smile or to banish a tear? Not what was her church, nor what was her creed, But had she befriended those really in need? Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say? But how many lives were touched as she passed their way? As per Mom's request there will be a private family service later on this week. The family would like to thank the St. Boniface Emergency Staff for all their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Boniface General Hospital Research Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. 982-7550
