Avis de décès de Shirley-Anne Ayers

RUTTNER, Shirley Anne - Left us April 8. 2009. Shirley Anne Ruttner, while spending a summer at a cottage on West Lake, fell in love with the country, convincing her husband Michael Ruttner to settle here. It didn't take Shirley long before she found her Nirvana and 78 King St. became her home. When you were in Shirley and Michael's domain, you saw the memories they shared together - carpets and copper from their years of living in Iran as well as their art collection. Over the years her son Bill Brown and daughter Mary MacInnes would follow, both choosing Picton as their home. In 1986 Shirley opened her first venture, The Magic Carpet on Main St. This emporium brought the middle east and other treasures from around the world. Before her retirement, Shirley spent many a day and night assisting Bob Davis at the Codjigger listening to the history of the County. She then worked with Bob at the Forty Niner until he closed. This enabled Shirley time for her real passion which was pen and ink sketches with her constant companion Chicklet the cat. Shirley was called away on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital and is now with her parents Mildred and Fred Ayers of Paudash Lake, her brother Tommy Ayers of Vancouver and her husband Michael. Left to celebrate her life is daughter Mary MacInnes, son Bill Brown, brother Fred and his wife Bess of Victoria, BC and her many friends. A celebration of Shirley Anne Ruttner's life will be held on Friday April 17 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Picton Br. 78 in the 'Quiet Room' between the hours of 4 and 6 p.m. Please join us. Arrangements entrusted to the HICKS FUNERAL HOME, 2 Centre St., Picton, ON 613-476-5571. 11473312
