<!-- FH = Ray & Allen Funeral Service --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Shirley AndersonAsheville, NC - Shirley Graham Anderson, 64, passed unexpectedly Thursday, January 22, 2015.Shirley was born Sept. 1, 1950 in Winston-Salem, NC to Miles and Ella Lena Graham.She received her Bachelors of Science in Biology from Barbara Scotia College and followed with a Masters degree in Counseling from North Carolina Central University. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Links, Inc.She spent the last 10 years of her life doing what she loved most, teaching and counseling children at the YWCA of Asheville. Although she only birthed four, she was a mother, a friend and confidant to many.She was a woman of distinction, filled with love, and full of life. She lived for her family, volunteering, traveling, shopping, dancing and a good cold brew. Without reservation, she was the most selfless and giving person.She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Graham; mother-in-law, Euralee Anderson.She is survived by her husband, Albert B. Anderson, MD; children, Stacy (Dexter) Anderson-Blakney, Courtney Anderson, Tiffany Anderson (Richard Bazzelle) and Albert (Kortnie) Anderson; parents, Miles and Ella Lena Graham; brothers, Samuel (Janice) Graham and Gaston (Ilda) Graham; sisters, Constance Graham, Mary Graham and Vanessa (Anthony) Campbell; father-in-law, Lus Anderson; brother-in-law, Lemuel Anderson, Sr.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; other relatives and friends.The family will receive friends Wednesday, 7 to 9 PM in the chapel of Ray & Allen Funeral Service, 127 McDowell St. A celebration of her life will be 12 noon, Thursday, Nazareth First Missionary Baptist Church, with Bishop Carolyn Briggs officiating. Burial will be in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the Shirley G.
