Ms. Sheila Marie Johnson - SAVANNAH - Ms. Sheila Marie Johnson, 58, had her transition, Tuesday January 8, 2008 at Memorial Health University Medical Center. She was born on December 19, 1949 in Savannah, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents; Quincy and Helen Johnson, three brothers; Harold, Charles, and Clarence Johnson. Sheila was the youngest of eight siblings. She was a native of Savannah, GA, attended A. E. Beach High School and was a 19689 graduate of Ballou High School, Washington, D.C. She also graduated from Savannah State University where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 1974. Sheila retired from the Chatham County Board of Education in 2006 after 30 years of service. She was a former member of the National Education Association, Georgia, Georgia Education Association, and Chatham Education Association. She was a former member of St. Phillip Monumental A.M.E. Church and she is now a member of the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses. She is survived by one son; Craig Michael Johnson, two brothers; Joseph (Peaches) Johnson of Newport News, VA, Thomas (Carolyn) Johnson of Charleston, SC, two sisters; Ruth Johnson Vaughn of Detroit, MI, Pearl Johnson Terry of Savannah, GA, two sisters- in-law; Artelia Johnson, of Savannah, GA, Marva Johnson of Battle Creek, MI, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
