Sharron K. Roberts, Gadsden, died of complications due to diabetes on Feb. 21, 2012. She was 47. Visitation is scheduled from noon until the hour of service today at Crestwood Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at Crestwood Chapel at 2:30 p.m., and the Rev. Zac Clay will officiate. Mrs. Roberts graduated from Emma Sansom High School in 1982 and was married four years later. She was a devoted mother. The love she had for her sons was always self-evident. In the spring of 1998, Sharron underwent surgery for a kidney transplant. Her sister, Susan, gave willingly and helped to further extend her life. Sharron was a talented pianist who served at Forrest Avenue Baptist Church and South 11th Street Baptist Church for 17 years. Survivors include her husband of 25 years, John H. Roberts; two sons, Daniel and Bradley Roberts; mother, Joyce Reeves Cooper; brother, Donny Reeves; sister, Susan (Greg) Randall; in-laws, Becky Potter, Mark Roberts, Brenda Butram; and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks are given to the UAB kidney transplant team, Davita Dialysis, Physicians Choice Dialysis, Gadsden Regional Home Health Care and Amedisys Hospice.Thanks to Drs. Jeremy Goodwin, Mohammed Kabir, Gary Kwan, Edward Hwang, B.J. Patel, and caregivers, Beverly Hastings and Tammy Young. Burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery with no graveside services. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the 12th Street Baptist Church capital fund.
