Sharon L. Miller Sharon L. Miller, 56, died Tuesday, June 10, 2008. The service will be held at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday, June 14, at Bevis Funeral Home (850-385-2193) in Tallahassee, Fla. with burial at MeadowWood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. EDT Saturday, June 14, at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308. Sharon was born September 4, 1951, in Salisbury, MD. She moved with her family to Tallahassee in 1968, where she eventually graduated from Leon High School. She later obtained a nursing degree from Gordon Keller School of Nursing, Tampa, Fla., in 1972.She was an honor student at the University of San Diego, Hahn School of Nursing, in California, where she pursued her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. During her 27 years in San Diego as a registered nurse and clinical supervisor she was honored by the Governor of California for her contributions to the Task Force on Well Being in 1982 and was selected Outstanding Young Woman of America in 1983 by the American Historical Society.She returned to Tallahassee in 2000, and currently worked as an ER nurse at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. In addition to being a past marathon runner, her personal interests included free lance calligraphy and electric keyboard. She attended the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Tallahassee. After 36 years of dedicated nursing, Sharon will be sorely missed by associates, friends and family.She is survived by her father and mother, William and Carolyn Miller; her brother, Tommy Miller (wife Gail); and niece, Jessica Miller, all of Tallahassee, Fla.
