Sharon Barno Smith, 47, Port Charlotte, died May 27, 2002. She was born Oct. 2, 1954, in Binghamton, N.Y. She graduated from Broome Community College in New York and from Gwynedd-Mercy College in Pennsylvania. She was employed as a registered nurse at Fawcett Memorial Hospital intensive care unit and had worked at the Southwest Florida Pain Center, the Charlotte County Crisis Stabilization Unit and the DeSoto Correctional Facility. Survivors include children Cara Nolan of Boca Grande and Ryan of Port Charlotte; her fiancé Joseph Lussier of Port Charlotte; her parents, Eugene and Madeline Barno of Apalachin, N.Y.; sisters Margaret Stackhouse of Endicott, N.Y., and Teresa Barno-Rossi of Canton, Ohio; brothers Edward Barno of Baldwinsville, N.Y., James Barno of Little Meadows, Pa., Gary Barno of Rochester, N.Y., and Patrick Barno of Clinton, N.J. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Kays-Ponger/Royal Palm Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Royal Palm Memorial Gardens.
